propane tank protecting mudflap using my old mud flap parts and a South African Vanagon mud flap (but you could use any mudflap and trim it to the right size).  Pretty basic process.  I used a very sharp utility knife to trim of the old flap part off the original mud flap.  I then cut the top portion of the SA mud flap off.  The next part was trimming the raised protion of the original mud flap so the new flap would fit tightly against the original mud flap(you can see where I did that in the third picture).  I then fitted it all together without the new flap portion attached and placed it on the westy to note the proper alignement of the mud flap metal bracket so that I would know where to drill the holes in the new flap (this is important to get the right fit of the mud flap against the van body).  Once everyting was perfect, I used a polyurethane adhesive sealant between the old and new mudflap and then used 5mmX1.5mm stainless steel bolts and washers to attach the metal brackets to the mud flap and hold everything together.
